Attachable to virtually any straight-blade bulldozer (though a 125-250 horsepower-sized dozer is recommended) TerraTec’s 16-foot AggreScreed bulldozer blade attachment adjusts to 24 feet in two-foot increments. It’s capable of laying gravel at any depth from zero to 15 inches and can even create up to a three-and-a-half percent crown in a single pass. Plows fixed to skids on each end of the blade capture and keep materials in front of the apparatus to achieve proper depth. Because of its accuracy, the new gravel screed essentially creates stakeless road grading.
AggreScreed’s width is adjusted by repositioning 24 bolts which takes about 30 minutes manually. A hydraulic system, controlled by a box mounted in the dozer cab, moves the bulldozer blade attachment to your determined position. Once the bolts are reattached into the pre-drilled holes then the AggreScreed is ready for the next job.
Huge potential savings in labor and equipment costs
Considering the savings in both labor and the accuracy of gravel placement that eliminates the need for overage adjustments, TerraTec’s AggreScreed could potentially be paid for after laying just 10 miles of road. There is limited need for a surveyor, and the bulldozer blade attachment can be mounted and operated by existing personnel using existing equipment. For larger roads, the crown can be achieved in a single pass.
